The zoo is so big and you don’t know where to start? Then take a fascinating journey of discovery on the Bionic Tour. You’ll find out what we can learn from nature for technology. We have set up new stations at the animal enclosures where you can join in the fun. How does it work? It’s simple: take one of the two puzzle routes in the Bionicum, follow the instructions to the stations and solve the tricky puzzle.

There are so many habitats on earth and each poses different challenges for its inhabitants. How do animals in arid regions obtain vital water? How do coral reefs form and, by the way, can damaged reefs be repaired? What can robots learn from flocks of birds?
Find out what strategies animals and plants have developed to survive – and where the Easter Bunny has hidden the surprise. Grab the Easter treasure map at the entrance to the Bionicum and go on an adventure rally.

In the dark winter season, we enjoy the many lights that illuminate our streets at Christmas time. Some animals can also glow in the dark by themselves or with the help of moonlight, without any electricity. There are pulsating mushrooms, flickering fish, glowing fireflies and much more. But how do they do it? We want to investigate this exciting question together. Once we have solved the mystery, we will make our own swarm of fireflies in a jar. Finally, robot Momo will show us how great he can glow. Due to popular demand, we are offering the vacation course again during the carnival vacations.

Together we will go on an exciting species hunt and build our own bottle garden that we will never have to water. Looking through the beaker magnifying glass, we find out how many living creatures are at home even in the smallest of spaces and how they depend on each other. We also discover that there are many different species even in the products in the refrigerator.

After a short introduction to bionics, explore the interactive exhibition with a special research sheet. Try your hand at being a fish, see how stable the spider’s web is, and travel to the year 2050, where green technologies are already commonplace. Finally, robot Nao will show how well he can dance. The event takes place exclusively in the Bionicum, a visit to the zoo is not possible.
